Final Revision !!!
No more Eco-D, no more GeogThotA.
One last paper to go this coming Tuesday,i.e. OMG TML!!! and I am done for the semester (period)
But instead of having the final boost of motivation to start on my final paper, I ended up being overwhelmed by the horrid holiday mood instead. Partly ‘cuz I have no clue what exactly GeogThotB is about and also because the excitement of post-examination plans are just way too unbearable…
Here’s my plans:
6-13 Dec: Hokkaido (The ultimate distraction this revision period)
26-27 Dec: Batam super-short trip
Can’t afford to travel to much this holiday due to my thesis commitment.
Super behind time for now and I really need to use the holiday to catch up with everything and everybody.

I was watching this documentary screening on TV1 earlier on. Didn’t managed to get the name of it but it was about the catastrophic eruption of Mount Pinatubo back in 1991.
Apart from the Western favouritism so obviously depicted at the start of the documentary with the usual “US comes to the rescue!” and the latter half where the “superstitious tribal people who died for not heeding warnings”, it was one good documentary that had effectively reenacted the tension amongst the volcanologists prior to the eruption to assess the whole situation and to get the facts and data right so as to convince a widespread evacuation of the people living around and near the volcano and the grief and devastation that comes along with it after it erupted and when the worse was to be met when the eruption coincided with Tropical Storm Yunya that was passing the area at that point of time.
Side thought: Pyroclastic flows, ash rains, magma, pressure release etc. etc. It’s like yet another Natural Hazards module all over again.
Everytime after watching documentaries like these, I’d always got this feeling that the world is so big and we as human beings are just so insignificant juxtaposing it. So many things are happening around us, climate change and its many horrible effects, earthquakes, eruptions and what’s not. Just look at the dual disaster our neighbour, Indonesia, had faced earlier last month when Mount Merapi in Central Java had erupted and just a little while before, Tsunami Mentawai caused by a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Mentawai Island chain in western Indonesia.
I feel to lucky to be living in Singapore somehow. “Supposedly” sheltered from natural disasters (But who knows what will happen in the future. Just watch the movie “2012″ and you’ll know what I mean) and to a pretty large extent, safe and peaceful (I mean, there isn’t exactly bombs flying above your heads though I admit that there’s indeed quite a number of fights going on recently). But what I really want to say is that seriously, treasure your life people. Live it to the fullest. Stop procrastinating and do the things that you really want to do now. Because well, there might very well be no tomorrow. That in particular however, I really have to say, EXCLUDES heinous and seriously unforgivable ones like molesting, raping, stealing, cheating, killing, injuring and what’s not. If you really do managed to gain access to some of my previous pw-protected entries, you will see how anti-perverts, rapists, murderers and what’s not I am. Do things you like, but please…. NOT at the expense of others.
I know this might sound contradicting to some of you but yes, that’s life I suppose.
Alrights then, time to do some work!

A short hiatus

It’s been a really bad semester for me and I am still struggling to stay afloat of everything.

It’s pouring yet again…
“Rain, rain, go away, come again another day…”, sang a little girl living in my block on repeat mode. Poorly enunciated but cute nevertheless. When I first heard it while I was in the washroom, a smile came swiping across my face. I recall of my childhood days when I would climb onto my table, screaming (not singing) out loud this song every time the rain comes. Looking back, I guess I’d really irritated my parents a lot.
It’s been raining a lot lately and I am not liking it. I’m never a real fan of rainy days. I hate the chills and lethargy that comes along with it. I hate the fact that travelling to anywhere will be super inconvenient and uncomfortable. I hate the flu virus that’s bound to hit me every time the rainy days arrive. Sigh!
Contrary to that, I love the sun. It makes me feel alive and healthy. Sometimes I really missed those netball days when we had trainings under the boiling hot sun with beads of perspirations flowing down our faces and backs. It was indeed tiring but fun. ((: oh wells, gone were the days…
Till the next sunny day, I shall brace myself against the chills and get back to work.

The project season (or at least that’s how I loved to call it) had done some serious damage to my skin.
By the time I am free enough to take a closer look at it, I was utterly stunned.
I looked so listless especially with my extremely dehydrated (‘cuz I hate to drink PLAIN water) skin and my OMG-ly ugly dark circles. For a more graphical illustration, I look like a sickly panda.
Hey~ it actually looked kinda cute. But ok… digression.
Anyway, thanks to my concealer and what’s not for covering up all the zits and eye bags when I go to school or else my friends would’ve thought that the 7-month came early/late~ Hahaha!
I wonder how YS can live with it all… He actually said he prefered me without make-up.

So fine then, no make up then yes! Intensive facial treatment it is!
I never had the luxury of time to use facial masks so personally, I feel that sleeping packs are the best choice for me. As such, when YS was collating orders for the next batch of shipment from Korea, I hopped on the bandwagon and got myself this! Laneige water sleeping pack_ex!
After using it for like 2 times over the past week (cuz can only use 1-2 times a week I really gotta say that I’m such a convert right now. I loved how my skin feels unbelievably hydrated and soft when I wake up the next morning. This is unlike some of my other sleeping packs that I’d used which only made me feel nothing but yucky-sticky rather than moisturised. I remember the first morning I woke up after using it, I was so amazed by how plumped up my face felt. It’s “machiam” (pardon me) me going for like a dozen dosage of botox. Hahaha!
Secretly, I am counting down to the next day that I am gonna use it again.

Exams preparations
Before I can even start on my revision, I need a space for me to mug.
And that is something which I am lacking of right now.
As such, I decided to embark on the tedious attempt to tidy up my one-semester-worth of notes.
It was really one tiresome effort as I had got like different piles of notes mixed with everything that I ever had.
I even found my comb, my eyeliner and tons of rubber bands amidst everything in the process!
It was totally disastrous!
I spent like the entire afternoon categorising all my notes, filing them up (and my hole-puncher had to die at this moment) and sortin them all over again into the shelves.
At the end of it all, I got myself a tidy and clean (wiped of all dust/dirt) table, along with 4 paper cuts and 2 blisters from struggling to punch holes with a spoilt hole-puncher.
Painful but fulfilling.
Now I can finally start work!!!
I know, compared to people like Cindy whose room is impressively neat and tidy, mine’s still a long way from it.
But hey! At least I’ve got space to mug now! =)
